The truly excellent Celeste has a final free DLC chapter coming, and it sounds extremely generous.
Celeste, last year’s major indie darling about a woman climbing a mountain via a series of fiendish platforming levels, has a new chapter on the way, which is going to be totally free for everyone (a particularly good deal if you got the game through Xbox’s Games with Gold program).
We’ve known about this for a while, but today’s revelation that the new chapter will feature over 100 levels – making it handily the game’s biggest chapter – is pretty surprising.
This comes via Matt Thorson, one of the game’s developers.
#Celeste Chapter 9 has over 100 levels!
…we've been detailing them for weeks now

He also clarified that the DLC, as of right now, does not have a release date, because the scope of it keeps increasing.
We don't like to talk release dates until we're 100% sure, because as always we have missed every internal target we set for ourselves as the Chapter grew in scope. Sorry!

Celeste won best independent game and the game for impact award at the Game Awards last year, and, arguably even more impressively, made our list of the best games on Switch. It’s great.
Celeste is available on PC, Switch, Xbox One and PS4.
